By Elizabeth Barlow Rogers. (Central Park Task Force, 1977)
Funded with a grant from the Exxon Corporation to the Central Park Task Force, The Central Park Book is intended to serve as a multifaceted educational guide. As author and editor, Elizabeth Barlow Rogers compiled a compendium of information about the park’s history, geology, botany, and wildlife. The final chapter serves as a short anthology, containing excerpts from books in which Central Park figures prominently as subject or setting.
